The Solid State Driver is a Saturation Transfomer Colour Module inspired by the sound of the famous large-format mixing desks manufactured in Oxford, UK.
The Solid State Driver is built with Class A gain stage, made of discrete transistors and integrated circuit operational amplifiers which drives the output transformer.
The 4K Mode based on the inductor filter adds the high-mid resonance to the signal further emphasising the large console tone.
The 4K Mode is not an EQ, it enhances the specific harmonics and can be very useful for processing mid-range instruments, for example, the snare, vocal or the drum set.
The Solid State Driver produces a wide range of harmonics, mainly even, making the sound stage more open and vivid.
Similar to what you would expect from a large format mixing desk. The Solid State Driver has high headroom capabilities and is ideal for mastering or tracking.
The Solid State Driver along with other colour modules from Solid State Line can create the perfect mastering setup delivering unique tone flavours of a classic solid-state console.

How to use the Solid State Driver Colour Module.
The Solid State Driver is easy to use saturation colour module. In low levels of drive, the saturation will be suttle.
For medium levels of drive, the compression effect will become audible.
At the overdrive level, the asymmetric clipping will produce audible levels of THD.
HRK Colour Modules – True Analogue Plugins!
Colour Modules are Hardware Analogue Plugins made with NOS Discrete Components and Valves which add pleasing harmonics and subtle saturation to the signal, delivering the sonic results of the Vintage Studio Equipment for a fraction of the Price!
Each Colour Module is different and uniquely impacts the sound.
You can use the Colour Modules for Recording, Tracking and Mastering.
What benefit I will get from Colour Modules?
The modern DAW systems can produce great results, but most of the sound engineers and music producers will admit that the mix produced with DAW is missing something… some special ingredient, which is the analogue magic.
This is why the big recording studios have racks filled with vintage preamps, compressors and equalizers.
The HRK Colour Modules are real Analogue Plugins which will help you to make better recording and mixes standing out from the crowd.
